A Message from Louie’s Legacy:
To contribute for Henry’s medical care: https://www.paypal.com/
We have amazing news! After all of your diligent sharing and tagging last night, Henry, the neglected senior shepherd with so little time left at the shelter, received a foster offer from the perfect foster home. With your help, his life was able to start again today. Thanks to his new foster family, he will sleep in a soft bed tonight, in a quiet, loving home. Rescue is a team effort, and it was yet another foster family, who stepped in at the last moment to take in the heartworm positive mom and puppies which were slated for Henry’s foster home, which made room for his rescue. Confused yet?
It gets even better. While at the shelter today, our NY Coordinator met Tala, a beautiful but partially blind, 4 month old Shepherd-Lab Mix puppy, who had been surrendered when her owner died. Our local shelter was bombarded with owner surrenders and strays, leaving them with no kennel space. When a foster stepped up immediately to take Tala, another space was created at the shelter, saving Tala, and making a safe space for the dog who took her kennel when she left.
Thank you to all of the wonderful foster homes who took in pets this weekend, creating such spaces in the shelters we work with. Thank you to those of you who took the time, late on a Friday night, to share sad Henry’s story. Thank you to our shelter partners, constantly stuck between a rock and a hard place when trying to move animals to safety. Without all of your combined efforts, loving, deserving old boys like Henry would be lost.
Finally, please consider contributing for Henry’s medical care! This week he will be evaluated for better pain management for his arthritis, and to rule out degenerative disorders of the spine. He will also receive follow up care for his ears and other skin abnormalities. We expect the unexpected in our frequent work with neglected seniors. Please make a tax deductible contribution here, and please do not forget to share: https://www.paypal.com/
Thank you and welcome Henry and Tala!
