POOR Sweet Jessica Has Been Returned Again. In actuality, her rescue, SCR Took Back For Her Own Safety…
(From her rescue SCR) Our Poor Jessica must have a dark cloud that follows her. 😞 she just can’t catch a break. Jessica needed to be in a only dog home and had waited sometime to find that home. We were so happy for her the day she left boarding and headed to her new person. The fit seemed to be a wonderful one. Her person understood that keeping Jessica away from other pets was something that needed to be done, but sadly the boyfriend did not agree with this. He kept trying to socialize Jessica with other dogs. Being an only dog, Jessica did not understand this socialization. If only the Boyfriend had understood and respected that some dogs just can’t live in harmony with other dogs we would not be making a plea for someone to offer Jessica a foster or adoptive home today. Trying to socialize Jessica with other dogs only caused a lot of unneeded confusion and stress for Jessica. It is not healthy for Jessica, or fair to her. For her safety and the safely of other dogs she needed to be returned.
We were lucky enough to find a foster for her who willingly took Jessica to avoid her having to go back to boarding. Her foster recently had unexpected surgery and thought recovery time would be a lot faster then what it is actually turning out to be. Caring for Jessica during this recovery time was not doable and she was moved to an emergency short term foster who can not keep her . We can’t even imagine what Jessica is feeling with so much change. Waiting so long in boarding, loosing the person she thought was family as well as her foster home is really horrible.
This poor girl 😞 If an offer is not made for a foster or adopter she will sadly head to boarding once again. Jessica is a good girl. She is obedient kind and loving. She is a wonderful pet. She just needs to be an only dog and needs her person to understand this. She is paying a horrible price at the expense of a person who did not respect her needs for being an only dog in the home. Time is truly not on Jessica’s side right now unless someone offers her a foster or adoptive home. Can anyone help our Girl out? http://nycsecondchancerescue.org/app
Jessica Is Still Waiting For Her New Beginning…
Jessica is currently stuck in boarding in Virginia! She was in boarding over 575 days prior to being adopted & returned! She needs a foster or an adopter with no other pets.
Jessica is an amazing, sweet loving dog, who likely had a bad experience with other dogs before entering the shelter & as a result is not comfy around them anymore. Jessica is NOT a bad dog! In fact she’s a SWEET, LOVING, CUDDLY LIL LOVEBUG! Just because she’s not comfortable off leash with other dogs, doesn’t mean she shouldn’t have a home! In all truth, Jessica is all the love you’ll ever need and so you won’t have to think of getting a second or third dog! Please read what her Former Foster Mama has to say about her…
“Meet JESSICA!! She has been searching for a home to call her own for over two and a half years. She is a sweet, loving 3YR old pup who was dumped at the Manhattan ACC in July of 2013 after having puppies when she was under a year old. At the time, she was developing a terrible case of demodex mange. (You can see in some of her old pictures, just how bad her skin was. She had hair missing just about everywhere on her body.)
Luckily she was pulled from DeathRow by Second Chance Rescue NYC. She stayed with her foster, me, for nine months, was spayed, and developed into a happy, healthy little girl. You would think after all she’s been through she’d have trouble trusting people, but that couldn’t be further from the truth!! Jessica adores everyone!
Jessica was then adopted and, through no fault of her own, returned five months later. When Jessica was returned, I was unable to take her back as a foster, which broke my heart. See both Jessica & my own dog both need to be only pets & it wasn’t feasible for me to foster her again. Luckily she was sent to Orange County Barkers, where she grew in leaps and bounds. Jessica recently went down to Virginia to Forever Home Rehabilitation Center to further work on her manners, particularly around other dogs. And wow! She’s making great progress!!
She still would do best as an only pet with a person or family who can give her lots of time and direction and affection. All she wants is to be a member of a family. She LOVES people and kids. She’s a very active and strong girl- a born athlete with the potential to be an agility champ- so kids over 12 are best, but, homes with dogs savvy kids 9+ could still be considered. Jessica is so loving and affectionate and wants nothing more than to have humans of her own. She would really flourish in a home as an only pet!

***Sadly, We know that often times when people hear “Needs Solo Pet Home” they immediately think of some wild or unruly dog. BUT NOTHING could be more WRONG!!! Jessica is the sweetest, kindest, most cuddly dog!!! She just happens to be uncomfortable in the company of other dogs. That shouldn’t mean she doesn’t get a home! Most people only have 1 dog…so why not make Jessica your one & only BFF for life!***
