***UPDATE: HEATH IS HOME! Foster mom Sarah decided life wouldn’t be the same without the silly pup she took in while he spent two weeks recovering from parvo after being discharged from the hospital. In less than three weeks, this uniquely handsome Pittie went from facing euthanasia at our city shelter after being brought in as a stray, to living the good life as a Mr. Bones & Co. One Lucky Pup rescue, then to finding a forever home that had been right under our noses this entire time!***
ADORABLE PARVO #PUPPY, HEATH, NEEDS A HOME!
Please welcome a surprise edition to our very full One Lucky Pup program, HEATH! Heath is parvo positive and had until 5PM to be pulled from Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) in Staten Island, where he was known as Jack. At just 6-months-old, this handsome dog deserves a beautiful life and we are going to try everything in our power to see this happen for him.
Because Heath is currently fighting the Parvo virus, he cannot be around other dogs because of the potential risk of transmission. But, being that he’s only a 6mos old puppy, he will likely be fine with other dogs once he starts socialization. Once Heath is healthy and over Parvo, he will be available for adoption in NY/NJ/CT/MA/PA. However, he could potentially be adopted sooner if the person lives in the NYC area and can take him to his follow up apts at the Animal Medical Center. MBC rescue is currently accepting applications for this little cutie! Email inquiries to [email protected] or apply at: http://mrbonesandco.org/adoption-application/
We will share more on his story as his parvo diagnosis is navigated, but for now he is in the capable and compassionate hands of our emergency vets at The Animal Medical Center. Donations of any size, whether they be $5 or $50 are appreciated. His care costs are estimated to be $3500 for his hospitalization and treatment.
